Josh Williams is the Park Historian for
Historic Washington State Park located in southwest Arkansas in the town of Washington. He has worked at the park since August 2006, but has volunteered there for over fifteen years. He grew up in Hope, Arkansas and went to school at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas and then went to Louisiana Tech University and Louisiana State University for graduate school.
He has been involved with living history and reenacting for over fifteen years through involvement in Civil War and American Revolution reenacting circles. His time period, for living history, covers the late 18th century up to the mid 19th century. Since Historic Washington interprets a 19th century town, many of his different characters include a Confederate private, a Jewish merchant's son, and a Methodist preacher. Dancing from the 18th and 19th centuries are also included in his interests.
